How to Build a Champion
Janet looks for the kids that have ignition, can deeply practice and are looking for the gentle adjustment of a caring Coach.
Mistake, adjust, hit.....over and over and over again. Struggle is required. Then all of a sudden the miracle happens. "You get it!!" Janet calls this practice!! She asks the question to all her juniors, "How long do you expect to play golf?" She has found that long term commitment with high level practice proves to be the quickest way skills are built. Talent shows up without warning. But the first step is ignition.
Juniors are welcome at any level.

Ariana Patterson
Janet asked Ariana, at 12 years old, what she wanted to do with her golf. She replied with absolute resolve, “Play on the LPGA Tour.”
Janet has had success with junior competitors, knowing how to coach them up the junior ranks and guiding them through the recruiting process toward college. Her students include:
Nate Smith - Duke University Golf Team
Nate played in the 2004 US Open at Shinnecock Hills. A reporter asked him if playing the Open was going to build his confidence? He replied, ”No, I already am confident.”
Kyle Gentry - Stanford Golf Team*
“When Kyle was eight years old, Janet asked him what he wanted to do when he grew up. He replied unwaveringly, 'I want to go to Stanford and play golf.”
* Janet began teaching Kyle to play golf when he was eight years old

Janet has a solid Coaching Style: She wants her players to be winners.
There are two kinds of winners: One kind of winner is the team that has the lowest score. And that is what Janet would want for her Team and she will work her players hard to win as many matches as possible.
However, there is another kind of winner that is just as important. That kind, is a winner in life. "I want my players to learn the lessons from competitive golf how to be a winner at everything they do, not just golf."

Janet has the honor of being the Varsity Head Coach of the Girls Golf Team at Santa Catalina School. This school has a strong commitment to Girls Golf and continues to build their program, attract top tier junior players and has been a consistent contender for the State Championship.
